Foods can fight depression

From an analysis of over 5,000 foods in the USDA nutrient database, "depression buster foods" are the foods highest in combination of the seven nutrients most commonly associated with depression. Brains need nutrients to be healthy, particularly those nutrients in these foods for depression. The depression buster food list is published in the book "Rebuild from Depression." A subset are displayed here in the depression buster photo album.

Clinical trial evidence shows that food can affect your brain health. Find out which foods you need to build your brain.

Find out what you can do today here at Rebuild from Depression, the most popular site on the Internet on the link between
depression and nutrient deficiencies.
The ultimate test:
Write a book on depression featuring psychotic episodes in pregnancy and postpartum. As the book is ready to print,
get pregnant and see just how much wisdom was in that book after all. Read "Second baby, second chance" on the author's second pregnancy after writing the Rebuild manuscript.

If you are deficient in food nutrients, it can aggravate your depression. Many of us have specific deficiencies in fats such as
Omega 3s, in vitamins such as B vitamins, and in minerals such as magnesium, zinc, and iron. We outline in the book a list of foods highest in nutrients that fight depression, but we introduce them on this site as well.

Often times people do not explore nutrient deficiencies because they are taking prescription antidepressants, as I discuss in
Zoloft and breastfeeding. Luckily, this is not an either/or choice. If you are deficient in a nutrient, you will feel better once you correct it.
